After 40 years in the cattle business, a Canadian veterinarian, entreprenuer, and cattle feeder legend got the tip of the hat and was inducted in to the Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame last week during the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association cattle convention.

Kee Jim, from Okotoks, Alta., founder of Feedlot Health Management Services Ltd. and several cattle feeder companies, says that its an incredible honour to be inducted in to the hall of fame. Shaun Haney, founder of RealAgriculture, spoke with Jim at #CattleCon about his impressive career and some of the decisions he had to navigate to get to where he is now.

Jim shares that shifting the business focus to the U.S. was a pretty huge leap, being from Canada. He also credits his clear focus on using data from the very beginning to guide the cattle feeder businesses as the real driver of his success.

Listen below (or download for later) to hear about how Jim’s career progressed and how the cattle business evolved over time, requiring innovation and adaptability to garner success.
