The Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers Limited (CCWG), headquartered at Carleton Place, Ont., is being led by an interim general manager after Eric Bjergso was suspended with pay, beginning March 15, 2023.
In a letter sent late last week to share holders, CCWG advises that the executive committee, supported by the board, “initiated a temporary suspension-with-pay for Eric Bjergso from his role as General Manager with immediate effect.”
Morgan Moore, president of the board, has assumed the role of interim GM, as per the CCWG corporate by-Laws
“During this time there will be a review of financial operations and corporate structure. Our business operations are important to us, and the board has implemented a contingency plan to minimize disruption of service,” the letter concludes.
RealAgriculture reached out to CCWG for additional comments, including an explanation of the circumstances by which Bjergso was removed, and if there would be impacts to the business dealings. Moore responded to say that the board would be providing no further details.
The Wool Growers is the largest wool buyer and processor in Canada, and maintains six retail locations across Canada, specializing in livestock equipment, veterinary supplies, and fencing supplies. It was established in 1918 and is headquartered in Ontario.
