Meet Atley, RealAgriculture’s new Saskatchewan field editor

Hey, I’m Atley Hamlin and I am proud to say I am the newest addition to the RealAgriculture team!

I grew up throughout the Canadian Prairies, spending my childhood at my parents’ home at Olds, Alberta.

Growing up. I enjoyed playing basketball with my dad and brother, and enjoyed doing pretty much anything with my mom. We made countless trips to my grandparent’s farm in west central Saskatchewan, where I got to spend time getting in to trouble with my cousins and tagging along with Grandpa to do chores. In high school. I moved to rural Saskatchewan to attend boarding school, and Saskatchewan is where my heart has remained ever since.

I attended the University of Saskatchewan, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelors of Arts & Science in Health Studies, specializing in neurobiology. Throughout my undergraduate career I had the pleasure of working at the U of S Kernen Crop Research Farm where I was a part of the Agronomic Crop Imaging lab. In my four years at Kernen, I learned a lot about agronomic practices and crop research. I am excited to apply my background knowledge in my new position with RealAg!

Outside of my career I enjoy music, poetry, being outside, and spending time at the lake. I have many hobbies such as photography, sewing, and working out. I love spending time family, friends, and my dog, Arlo!

I’d love to hear from you! Send me an email at [email protected]
