New Holland rolls out next gen precision-equipped Guardian front-boom sprayers

New Holland global product manager Jason Hardy

A full integration of precision technology and capacity combine in the relaunch of New Holland’s Guardian front-boom high-clearance sprayers — the SP310F, SP370F, and SP410F models.

To get to know the new line up, RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin caught up with Jason Hardy, New Holland global product manager, at the Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa.

In the video below, Hardy is standing in front of the largest offering in the fleet, with a 135-foot front boom, but it’s what’s in the cab and running the boom that is the most interesting.

Hardy explains that so many Raven precision technology components are worked in to the overall design of the sprayer: from the rate controller, next gen pulse width modulation, and telematics. On these machines, operators will use the Raven Hawkeye system, dual Raven displays, Slingshot from Raven and IntelliSpray II.

Visual Guidance, which uses image sensors and processing technologies to deliver a quicker response rate, better overall sprayer control, reduced operator fatigue and improved data collection, the company says, improving efficiency by 20 per cent.

The unit offers true high clearance as a nod to operators looking to add applications later in the season, especially in corn, but also for late-applied product for canola and wheat.

Hardy adds the Guardian offers increased tank size to keep rolling with fewer stops to refill, and that the tank is a centre-mount to keep that extra weight evenly distributed.

Units like this one will be in the field this fall. New Holland is currently taking orders going forward, but is fully booked for spring 2023.
