The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) is welcoming a new face to their team, as Dion McGrath has steps in as the producer organization’s executive director.

APAS says McGrath’s previous experience as the former CEO of Southeast College at Weyburn, Sask., his executive roles in the public sector and his personal endeavours with his partner to create a digital marketing company, Above the Fold, all make him well suited to fill the position.

McGrath, who grew up on a mixed grain and hog farm near LeRoy, Sask., says APAS’s ability to “identify policy solutions for the success of the ag community,” is what attracted him to the role. ““Looking at the variety of issues that APAS has advocated on behalf of producers, they have shown time and again to be an effective voice for ag producers and that is a great environment to be part of”.

McGrath is taking over for former APAS General Manager Duane Haave, who retired in late August and will have his first day with APAS this coming Monday, September 19.
