The world’s largest electronics manufacturer is preparing to build tractors.
Foxconn, a Taiwan-based company that has supplied and assembled products for Apple, Google, Microsoft, and many other brands, has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Monarch Tractor — a California-based company that is planning to mass produce small, driver-optional, electric tractors.
The agreement, which was announced August 9, will see Foxconn build the low-horsepower tractors and battery packs at a newly-acquired 6.2 million square foot facility that also builds electric vehicles in Ohio.

Full production of Monarch’s MK-V series machines, which appear to be targeted at vineyards and fruit producers, is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023.
Monarch also entered a multi-year licensing agreement regarding its electrification technology with CNH Industrial in late 2021.
