Elanco Animal Health Canada is introducing a new feed additive to the marketplace.

Experior is a new product designed to help beef producers lead the charge towards a greener future. It is the first and only Health Canada-approved feed additive to reduce ammonia gas emissions in feedlot cattle and their waste.

It is a flexible solution for feedlot operators who want to elevate their environmental stewardship efforts while delivering business results, says JD McFarlane, Elanco Canada’s ruminant sales manager.

“This innovative new product reduces the amount of ammonia gas cattle release into the environment, and provides producers with an additional tool to support their continued environmental stewardship efforts,” he says.

Experior is labeled to reduce ammonia gas emissions per kilogram of live weight, and hot carcass weight in beef steers and heifers during the last 14 to 91 days on feed. In gas emission studies conducted in the U.S., mean cumulative NH3 gas emissions and emissions per kilogram of live weight and hot carcass weight were significantly lower for all dose levels tested. Experior did not have any negative effects on average daily gain, feed efficiency, or carcass characteristics.
