What professional will you add to the farm team next?

(Kara Oosterhuis/RealAgriculture)

Farmers are known for their independent, get ‘er done mentality, and seemingly endless energy for putting in the required work to get those things done. But no farmer truly works alone — whether it’s an agronomist, a marketing pro, or an equipment technician, most farmers know it takes a team of professionals to keep a farm humming.

The “what” you add to the farm’s support network is nearly as important as the “when.” Some farms might feel they’re not large enough to support the cost or time required to bring in outside advisors, but adding insight and expertise from outside sources might be what’s required to push the farm to its next level. What’s more, there’s more than a grain of truth to the the do what you do best and hire the rest mentality.

Whether it’s in an effort to improve production, or to set a succession plan in motion, or a need for delegating tasks you just don’t have a talent or passion for, we’re asking “What professional or advisor will you add next to your farm team?”
