Bayer rolls out new corn herbicide for Eastern Canada

Waterhemp

Boasting “season-long” control of some major weed pests, Bayer Crop Science has announced the registration of Corvus herbicide for corn in Eastern Canada.

According to the label, Corvus is effective against waterhemp, lamb’s quarters, velvetleaf, sowthistle, yellow and green foxtail, and barnyard and crab grass.

Corvus offers three ways of dealing with weeds: as a burndown, as a residual, and as a reactivated herbicide after rainfall. Containing Group 2 and Group 27 modes of action, it can be applied pre-emergence, as a pre-plant incorporated, or early post-emergence (2-leaf stage).

The product can also be tank-mixed with atrazine, providing up to 28 days of grassy weed control, the company says.

Corvus will be available for the 2022 growing season.
