Corteva Agriscience and BASF Canada collaborate on weed control

Corteva Agriscience and BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions (BASF) have announced a collaboration and joint approach to weed control by recommending the combined use of Liberty 200 SN and Enlist herbicides on Enlist E3TM soybean acres.

The combination will work especially well on weeds like waterhemp and Canada fleabane, that are now glyphosate resistant in many soybean fields. By using this combination on the same acre, farmers can access improved weed control while helping sustain the long-term efficacy of both herbicides, say the companies.

David Kloppenburg, category leader of row crop herbicides at Corteva, says farmers that are planting Enlist E3 soybeans want choice when it comes to herbicides, and that is one of the key benefits of the Enlist weed control system.

“Using multiple effective modes-of-action post-emergence helps farmers keep their fields clean of tough, broadleaf weeds. As part of a program approach to weed control in Enlist E3 soybeans, Liberty 200 SN herbicide is Corteva’s recommended glufosinate for use with the Enlist weed control system,” says Kloppenburg.

Chris Vander Kant, corn, soybeans, and horticultural crop manager for BASF Canada says “Liberty 200 SN herbicide contains a unique mode of action that helps to control tough glyphosate resistant weeds and its unique formulation, designed for glufosinate ammonium tolerant soybeans, including Enlist E3 ,will make it an excellent tank mix partner for Enlist 1 for improved post emerge weed control.”
