The Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA) has announced that Doug Miller will take on the position of executive director and CEO of CSGA, effective April 1.
Miller arrived at CSGA in 2011, and since then has managed CSGA’s core certification business and technology infrastructure. As a recognized industry thought leader and innovator, Miller has been at the forefront of the modernization and digital transformation of the seed certification system.
Miller has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility within the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies based out of the U.S., as well as currently holding one of two board of director membership positions with that organization.
Miller holds an MBA with a food and agribusiness specialization from the University of Guelph, a biology degree, and an advanced project management certification from Stanford University. Before he joined CSGA, Miller worked as a high visibility issues manager for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, where he gained experience with their seeds program.

Technology, coupled with a deep understanding of our members’ needs across our service offerings, will take us there.”
Miller succeeds Glyn Chancey, who is retiring after five years in the role. In addition to the leadership change, Caroline Lafontaine will be taking on the role of chief operating officer.
