Agronomy Geeks, Ep 15: Paul Hermans

Sometimes taking on a new role is the challenge you need to really dig in to the next stage of your career, but sometimes returning to an earlier role is a great way to inject excitement and joy, while allowing for mentorship and growth too.

Paul Hermans has held several different positions with Pioneer (and throughout several different names of the company), and now serves as territory manger for Eastern Ontario. But he’s also held the title “agronomist” more than once, as we learn in this episode of Agronomy Geeks.

Ever the curious, Hermans is always keen to dig deeper — sometimes literally — to try and understand an agronomic challenge for his customers. He’s the one you want to help put on a field day, or design an on-farm field trial, or speak at your local farm group meeting, because his enthusiasm for agronomy and growing great crops always shines through. He pens a newsletter too, compiling rainfall amounts, sub-zero temperatures, and more during the growing season, and shares tidbits of it online via Twitter.

In this Agronomy Geeks episode, hear from Hermans on his journey in agriculture so far, and what’s next for helping farmers achieve their yield and cropping goals.
