Kubota’s MX Series focuses on comfort, affordability and versatility

Kubota’s MX Series compact-utility tractors for model year 2020 are ready to roll in both larger compact applications, and also smaller utility applications, with a focus on comfort, affordability, and versatility.

“This replaces the original MX Series,” says Sean Adams, Kubota product specialist. “We’ve got two series — the MX 5400 and the MX600. They’re available in a open station, and in a cab. They’re also available in a gear transmission or hydrostatic transmission. So, ton of versatility right there.”

Running with 57 horsepower on the MX 5400, and 63 horsepower on the MX 6000, the tractors are equipped with category I and II 3-point hitch, 2WD or 4WD, and a tight turning radius. They also boast a suspension seat, optional air seat, and for the cab version, of course, heat and air conditioning.

“On the open station we’ve now got a standard rubber floor mat, we’ve relocated the PTO engagement switch…, and we’ve got a new feature, a stationary PTO switch,” says Adams, adding the cab tractors have those features as well, and there are plenty of accessories to choose from, including side mirrors, rear lights and a 7-pin trailer plug.

The tractors feature the same 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, with the company’s LA1065 loader, that lifts up to 1065 kg at full height, at the pivot pin. The loader also now has an optional third function live valve which can be used for a grapple, for example, and operators are able to adjust all three simultaneously.

Adams says the tractors are hitting dealer lots now.
