Kubota, Titan team up to find tire solutions

What do you do when farm customers need a tractor tire that delivers the flexibility to handle front-end loader jobs along with being able to work in row crops?

That was the challenge tractor manufacturer Kubota faced earlier this year as its M7 series tractor users asked for a high-capacity loader tire with the additional capability to run in row crop applications as needed.

In this video report from the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois earlier this year, Kent Brown, Kubota senior product manager for ag utility tractors, explains how the company found the solution in Titan’s Goodyear Optitrac R-1W tires with low sidewall (LSW) technology.

Compared to standard tires, Titan OEM account manager Dennis Nutter says the LSW Optitrac design features better ride quality, a larger footprint for reduced soil compaction, less vibration and faster road speeds while maintaining excellent traction and side-hill stability in the field. With LSW technology, growers can also carry 40 percent higher loads at the same inflation pressures, or the same loads at 40 percent lower inflation pressures, than standard tires.
