Do More Ag offers free mental health training for 20 rural communities

It’s the second year the Do More Agriculture Foundation, along with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), will be providing free mental health courses to several farm communities. This year’s goal is to provide the training to 20 communities across Canada.

According to a news release, the training and workshops are aimed at developing community members who will be trained to identify mental health concerns and provide initial support to producers coping with difficult or unfortunate circumstances.

Due to an influx of applications last year, there will be a wait list created and communities across Canada that qualify will be chosen via a lottery system.

“The training is aimed at raising mental health awareness and equipping participants with basic skills to provide assistance when help is not immediately available,” says Adelle Stewart, executive director of Do More Ag.

Applications are now open until October 10, 2019. To apply, click here.
