Planning ahead takes on a new meaning for the Case IH sprayer options for 2020. From ways to make the pre-spray equipment check more precise, to a new radar and gyro-enabled precision boom control, Case IH has expanded options for the Patriot and Trident lines.
RealAg field editor Bernard Tobin met up with Mark Burns, Case IH application equipment marketing manager, at the recent Farm Progress Show to cover the features of the sensor and Bluetooth upgrades set for next year’s models.
Of particular note is the AutoBoom XRT — Case IH has upgraded boom height control to radar sensors and a chassis-mounted gyro to add a “look ahead” function that can adjust for terrain changes faster than past boom height technology.
The tech is designed to provide consistent, accurate application across every inch of ground, the company says. This option is ideal for producers with longer spray booms, as the longer the boom, the more challenging it is for operators to maintain level and consistent application. AutoBoom XRT automatic boom height control comes with three radar sensors placed along the boom, with the option to add more for a total of up to seven, for maximum points of monitoring.
