Highline Manufacturing has released the first North American designed and manufactured self-propelled feed mixer on the market last week at Ag in Motion at Langham, Sask.

The AccuMix 1000 was designed for feeding cattle in all conditions — including extreme ones.

“It’s a thousand cubic foot tub, 300 horsepower CAT engine,” says Bob Cochran, general manager of Highline Manufacturing. “It’s really made for tough conditions. We have the high ground clearance, big wheels, all-wheel drive. Made for the cold, made for mud. Really designed for the North American — the Canadian/American — cattle producers in mind.”

Although the mixer has been in development for a few years, it’s only been on the dealer network for a few days. There is one standard size for now, and features a self-loading arm option, dubbed the ‘Hired Hand.’

“In the larger feedlots where there is multiple machines running and there is a feed plant or a payloader, they may not need the arm, but in some larger dairies and some operations where there is a single operator that’s where the loading arm will come in real handy,” explains Cochran, while noting that the list price of the machine with the arm is $450,000.
