AWN mentorship program receives funding from FCC

The Ag Women’s Network (AWN) has announced that Farm Credit Canada (FCC) will fund this year’s mentorship program for Ontario women in agriculture.

“A mentorship is a valuable tool for leadership development, and we are proud to offer the mentorship program for a second year. Our team has taken feedback from industry and last year’s pilot program participants, and we are excited to have the opportunity to provide an enhanced mentorship experience this year,” says AWN chairperson and founder, Jennifer Christie.

Ten women have been selected and matched with mentors through the 2019 application process. Mentors and mentees will work through a personal road map to help advance the participants’ individual goals, the organization says.

AWN’s mentorship program originally started in 2018 by Amanda Brodhagen and Joan Craig. The grassroots program aims to celebrate the diversity of sectors, roles, and experiences of women in Ontario agriculture by building authentic relationships which support upward mentorship, AWN says.
