RealAg Radio, Mar. 7: New agriculture minister, trade talk, and the frustration with blocked canola

There’s a great line up of guests for today’s RealAg Radio show and you’ll know that because host, Shaun Haney doesn’t even have time to talk about the cold weather in Canada.

First up, news lead, Jessika Guse got the chance to interview the new Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister, Marie-Claude Bibeau. The pair discuss everything from getting up to speed in the new role, to what she knows about the India and Canada fumigation dispute and of course, how the government will be responding to China blocking canola exports from the largest canola exporter.

Then, Haney invites Adam Taylor, president of Export Action Global to talk about trade, USMCA, and China. To wrap up the show, Jean-Marc Ruest, senior vice-president corporate affairs and general counsel for Richardson International joins Haney to talk about his thoughts on the current situation with China and what the Winnipeg bases company is planning to do going forward.
