Ottawa announces $6.2 million in funding for CIGI

The Canadian International Grains Institute (Cigi) has received $6.2 million in  funding from the federal government, announced by new Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister, Marie-Claude Bibeau. Cigi is based at Winnipeg, Man.

The funding is earmarked to expand the market for Canadian wheat through technical support, market research, employee exchanges, and customized training for customers and commercial partners in over 50 countries.

The funding is through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) AgriMarketing Program.
