Two years ago our Exploding Spray Myths team raced against time to show sprayer operators that more air is not better when it comes to efficiently operating airblast sprayers.
In this new episode, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affair’s Jason Deveau and Tom Wolf, of AgriMetrix, return to the orchard to show growers how to ensure they get the airblast coverage they want to achieve before revving up the sprayer.
It’s all about thinking backwards, says Deveau. To be successful, spray applicators need to consider the volume they need to apply and travel speed before choosing the nozzles that give the target spray quality and rate at the preferred pressure to do the job.
