Ontario Sheep Farmers offering Master Shepherd’s course for fall 2018

Ontario Sheep Farmers is once again offering its Master Shepherd’s Course, beginning in September, 2018.

The 18-month course is set up as 12, two-day modules covering a wide variety of sheep production topics. Each module consists of one and one-half days of classroom style presentations and discussions, and one-half day of farm and industry tours.

The Master Shepherd’s course is geared towards sheep producers who have been in the industry three or more years and are interested in improving the productivity and profitability of their sheep flocks.

Individual producers may be eligible for cost-share funding through the CAP program (the next intake begins in August). A $1,000 deposit is due at the application deadline of August 1st, 2018. The balance of $2,200 is due in January, 2019.
