Familiar name in trade set to lead Canada’s Hemp Trade Alliance

The Canadian hemp industry is growing quickly and with that comes more responsibility when it comes to the getting hemp to market.

At the latest International Pacific Rim hemp conference, the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance (CHTA) announced Ted Haney as its new executive director.

Well known across many agricultural sectors, Haney most recently established an international beef export and transportation company. Prior to this, he has worked as a management consultant and an executive leader of a major Canadian Agri-food market development organization.

He also sat on the board of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance for eight years, which is something the CHTA found appealing when choosing their new executive director.

A new office for the CHTA will be based in Calgary, Alta., and that’s where Haney will start come the beginning of August.
