Bayer partners with FMC to launch $3 for 300 campaign to control cleavers in canola

Bayer and FMC Corporation have partnered up to offer a new deal for growers interested in improving cleaver control in their InVigor hybrid canola.

With a minimum purchase of 300 acres of any InVigor hybrid, producers can receive a $3 per acre rebate on their first 300 acres of Command herbicide, for a maximum discount of $900.

“One of the biggest challenges growers have on the prairies is management of cleavers,” says Bayer’s Blaine Woycheshin, adding that they’ve worked with FMC for quite a while on their new herbicide.

Command is a group 13, pre-emergent herbicide set to fully launch in the spring. According to FMC’s Nolan Kowalchuk, the herbicide creates a barrier on the surface of the soil, and with a slight rainfall (even as little as 5-10mm), the product is ready for uptake by cleavers. Command offers up to 4 weeks of residual control.

The deal runs between September 1, 2017 and June 15, 2018. Growers must be registered in the BayerValue program to qualify.
