Soybeans’ march north catches the eye of U.S. Farm Report’s John Phipps

It’s a changing world we live in, when an elevator at Kindersley, Saskatchewan, is posting bids for soybeans, says John Phipps, commentator on U.S. Farm Report.

A recent segment of the program was sparked by a tweet posted by Saskatchewan farmer David Kucher, which inspired Phipps to look up Kindersley on a map and wonder at just how we managed, in a relatively short time, to move soybeans that far north.

From plant breeding advancements, to Canada’s port advantages, Phipps discusses how the next generation of U.S. farmer may talk about Canadian soybean acres as competition, not as a novelty.
