Bunge Shares Timeline for Repairs After Fire at Nipawin Canola Plant

Bunge has resumed taking canola deliveries after a fire last week at the company’s processing facility at Nipawin, Sask.

Firefighters were called to the facility on Tuesday afternoon. The fire occurred in the crush plant.

With canola harvest looming, the facility is partially operational, according to a Bunge spokesperson in St. Louis.

“We plan to have it fully operational in about a month,” said Deb Seidel, in an email sent August 8.

Bunge acquired the Nipawin crush plant and refinery in 2002 when it bought CanAmera Foods.
