Spray Tips Special Edition: Wakey-wakey! Getting Up Early to Spray — Is it Worth It?

Myth Explosion: Calm, early mornings are perfect for spraying.

In this Spray Tips Special Edition episode, Sprayers101.com dynamic duo Tom Wolf and Jason Deveau get up early to explode another spray myth. It all starts when Wolf nudges a snoozing Deveau who is catching a nap beside the sprayer. Deveau explains he’s feeling tired after a busy morning. “I got up super early and was spraying by sunrise. I took advantage of the nice calm conditions to minimize drift.”

Wolf explodes Deveau’s sense of accomplishment when he explains that in some situations calm conditions can actually cause inversions that have a more negative impact on spraying than windy conditions.

With help from a Dairy Queen Blizzard ice cream, the two spray sleuths untangle the mystery of spray inversions and learn when it’s best to get an early start on spraying and when to sleep in.

It’s an ag educational series like you’ve never seen before, featuring Tom Wolf of AgriMetrix, Jason Deveau of OMAFRA, and the production talents of the RealAgriculture team.
