Jiffy Equipment Bought by RENN Mill Center

A short-line ag equipment manufacturer headquartered near Lacombe, Alberta is adding another Alberta-based equipment line to its business.

RENN Mill Center has acquired the manufacturing and distribution rights to Jiffy Agricultural Equipment from ProAll International Manufacturing at Olds.

With a product line that includes bale shredders, hay rakes, combine headers and harrow drawbars, Jiffy equipment has been manufactured at Olds since 1959. RENN was looking to add to its lineup of grain processing and bagging equipment, said president Doug Hilsabeck.

“We’ve been wanting to expand our product line for a while now,” he said in a company statement. “We’ve been looking for a brand of equipment that fits well with ours, in terms of proven quality and dependability that earns the trust of farmers. Jiffy has been a trusted name in agriculture for many years. We’re excited to expand our product offering with such a well-established and respected line of equipment.”

Meanwhile, ProAll was looking to sell its Jiffy operations, as it shifts its focus to the construction business, selling Reimer concrete mixers.

“We had to make a choice; we couldn’t continue supporting both sides of the business,” said ProAll CEO Larry Koop.

Hilsabeck noted RENN has added to its manufacturing facilities and invested in automation and robotics over the past five years in preparation for expansion.

RENN grain mills and baggers are currently marketed in more than 20 countries, while Jiffy products are mainly sold in North America. RENN is planning to merge the two distribution networks.

RENN also purchased the Pro-Care line of lawn maintenance equipment from ProAll as part of the deal.
