Eastern Ontario’s wheat and barley growers now have access to Pixxaro, a Group 4 herbicide with active ingredient Arylex, from Dow AgroSciences.

Pixxaro allows growers to spray across a broad range of weather conditions – hot, cold, wet or dry. When crops are stressed, movement of herbicides within the plant can be inhibited.  Pixxaro has the ability to move throughout the plant even under stressful conditions, says Kelly Bennett, cereals portfolio marketing lead for Dow AgroSciences.

Pixxaro controls broadleaf weeds, including very large ones, and can be used from early season to flag leaf stages of wheat and barley. Pixxaro controls ragweed, Canada fleabane, vetch, cleavers, chickweed and kochia. Pixxaro offers flexible mixing options and may be tank mixed with any grass product registered for use in wheat and barley in Eastern Canada, says Dow AgroSciences. It can also be tank-mixed with several foliar fungicides.
