Ed Seidle Named Pulse Promoter of the Year for 2014

The Pulse Promoter of the Year is an award given annually to celebrate the contributions of an individual in Canada’s pulse industry. On Monday, at Saskatoon’s CropSphere, the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) and BASF Canada announced Ed Seidle as the 2014 recipient.

“With more than 60 years of successful pedigreed seed production and 25 years of crop and soil studies, Mr. Seidle has certainly made his mark on the pulse industry,” said Danielle Eastman, brand manager for clearfield crops at BASF Canada. “We are proud to recognize his significant work and honour him with this award.”

As the senior partner of a pedigreed seed production enterprise in Medstead, Saskatchewan, Seidle is responsible for managing records of crops and land, and has a keen interest in pea pathology. He farms with his two sons and nephew.

“We are extremely pleased to recognize Ed Seidle’s contributions to and achievements in the pulse industry in Saskatchewan. His ongoing work in the field makes him an excellent pulse ambassador,” said Carl Potts, executive director of Saskatchewan Pulse Growers.
