Checking nozzles on the sprayer for uniformity can prove rather tedious, as it often means clambering up and down sprayer steps to turn booms on and off, and running behind the sprayer to take a look, all while attempting to avoid drift. SprayTest Controls Inc. has changed that process, with the remote boom control system.
The system controls up to 8 booms, allowing the user to select individual booms with a handheld remote from behind the sprayer.
But, perhaps what’s most innovative about the product, is its design. Installing the system takes 15-30 minutes, according to SprayTest, as the unit plugs into the sprayer’s existing harness and connectors.
In this episode of the TechTour, SprayTest‘s Dale Wiens joins Shaun Haney to talk about the innovation behind this technology, describing how the harness is installed, where the innovation originated and how the entire system offers both productivity and efficiency to spray applicators.
