Farm management and variable rate advisory firm Decisive Farming and Canada’s largest Case IH dealer — Rocky Mountain Equipment — have announced an alliance to integrate tech support for variable rate equipment.

“There’s always been a gap in the market before this alliance between the variable rate provider and the equipment dealer. This is closing the gap so it works for the farmer,” explains Decisive Farming’s CEO Remi Schmaltz in the interview posted below. “We will be integrated into their service offering.”

That means Rocky Mountain customers will receive access to Decisive’s cloud-based “My Farm Manager” software, which integrates equipment data with information from other parts of a farm business.

“It connects all of the key data on the farm — everything from GIS data, financial/market data, agronomy data, soil data, as well as your equipment data,” he explains.

Although Rocky Mountain sells Case IH and New Holland equipment, Schmaltz says they don’t favour any particular brands.

“This isn’t that Decisive Farming only now works with certain colours of equipment. We will work with everybody, and that’s not going to change,” he notes. “Growers that are utilizing equipment from Rocky Mountain, whatever colour that may be, will have a better service package because we’re more integrated, but that doesn’t mean the quality of service for a non-Rocky Mountain customer will get is poorer. It’s just not as integrated, and the benefits aren’t as high.”
