Western Canada Spring 2013 Weather Forecast with Drew Lerner

Will Western Canada’s winter ever end? Well, yes, of course it will, it’s just taking its jolly sweet time moving on out and letting spring begin in earnest. While current conditions seem very dire, somehow Drew Lerner manages to turn all this snow and cool weather into a positive, as you’ll hear in this RealWeatherWatch interview from this morning.

Lerner, founder of World Weather, Inc., offers at least some good news for Western Canada, as he predicts this cold weather pattern sitting over the Prairie Provinces to only have five to six days left in it. After that, the warming trend should start a solid, if somewhat slow, melt. Seeding will start, but farmers should get comfortable with a week or more delay from their average start date, he says. If you haven’t already, dusting off seeding Plan B or C may not be a bad idea.
