Picture Butte, Alta. — April 19, 2013 — Incredible traffic momentum, new features to the site and a significant distribution agreement with an online classified site has prompted to once again expand its employee base.

Shaun Haney and his team are pleased to announce that Debra Murphy, a cattle and grain farmer, writer, photographer and inspiring young leader, from Altario, Alta., has accepted the role of Saskatchewan Field Editor with, effective May 1, 2013. Murphy will be based as Saskatoon, Sask.

“Debra is a talented photographer and writer, who is just as comfortable doctoring calves as she is tackling big issues like the role of GMOs in our production systems and women’s leadership in agriculture,” says Shaun Haney, founder of

After graduating from the University of Alberta with a B.Sc. in Agriculture in 2010, Debra participated in a six-month volunteer exchange to Nova Scotia and Indonesia. She has spent the last two years running the family grain farm and cow/calf operation with her mother, where she focuses on holistic management of her land and livestock. Murphy is actively involved with the Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Development program, and will continue to speak on the role of social media in agriculture at various conferences. is now based in Picture Butte, Alta., Saskatoon, Sask., Winnipeg, Man., Guelph, Ont., and Kansas City, MO.
