Manitoba Soybean Growers to Benefit from Western-Focused Soybean School Episodes

Soybeans are the hot topic of 2013. From Manitoba to Alberta, farmers are curious about growing the crop or are planning to expand acres in a big way this year. While the crop isn’t brand new for Manitoba, the projected 1 million acre mark for 2013 is not going to be reached by only seasoned growers planting the crop — many will seed the crop for the first time this year.

The Manitoba Pulse Growers Association fields many calls regarding how to grow soybeans. The group also funds multiple soybean-related research projects, and was looking for new ways to share the results of that research and provide an accessible way for farmers to learn about soybean agronomy. As part of that, MPGA has partnered with RealAgriculture.com to deliver a set of 10 western-focused Soybean School episodes.  Becker Underwood, Syngenta Canada and Prides Seeds will all still be sponsors of the Western episodes as well.

In this video, Mike Reimer, acting executive director of MPGA, and Lyndsey Smith, editor of RealAgriculture.com, talk about what farmers can expect from the Western based episodes in 2013.
