Wheat School – How Do I Know If It’s Stripe Rust?

Stripe rust is the new big bad disease on the block. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not “new” in the sense of just arriving on the scene, but it is new in the sense that it is making it’s presence known lately. As with anything that’s currently in the spotlight, there tends to be a reaction that sees stripe rust hiding behind every tree and in every field. The truth is, if you don’t know what you’re looking for, you can mistake leaf spotting diseases for stripe rust. In this episode of the Wheat School we attempt to calm some of the “orange scare” as plant disease specialist Faye Dokken Bouchard helps us to properly identify stripe rust.
