Cropweek 2012 – New Holland Offers SmartTrax System to Provide Wider Harvest Windows

At this year’s Crop Production Week Show in Saskatoon, we got to take a look at New Holland’s new SmartTrax track system. The system offers producers a number of benefits, the first of which is more power to the ground. The tracks offer a boost in pulling and climbing power when travelling or pulling larger implements across hilly land. The second benefit is better floatation. The wide surface area on the tracks makes spinning and sinking a lot harder to do. One of the other benefits of a track system is the lack of soil compaction compared to tires. This is a real benefit to no till farmers or anyone using a controlled traffic system.

We talked to New Holland Agriculture’s Todd Summach about the SmartTrax system at Crop Production Week 2012.
