The Impact of High Temperatures on Your Corn Fungicide Strategy – Eric Richter, Syngenta

Corn is a plant that likes heat, but how much is too much? When you get into a situation where later planted corn is involved, that heat has to be balanced with the crops ability to access water. In less mature corn, that root structure may not be able to access.  Parts of Ontario are experiencing record breaking temperatures this week along with a lack of crop rain fall which is increasing the concern of limited yields.

Some farmers that I spoke to this week in Ontario are wondering if they should back out of their fungicide plans based on the limited upside of the crop.  Other famers believe that rain is coming and not applying fungicide would be a regrettable decision.

To talk about the high temperatures impact on your corn fungicide strategy I spoke with Eric Richter from Syngenta.
