Minimizing the loss of silage is very important in any livestock operation whether you are running a dairy or a feedyard. Silage can be stored in a pit, silo or the bale wrapper. Proper storage is very important feeding requirements. What kind of silage storage you choose will somewhat depend on your farm location or size of operation or kind of livestock. In many parts of the country the grain bagger has become popular in light of the success of wrapping silage.
At Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show I met with Hoke Reeves of Reeves Bale Wrappers to discuss the bale wrapping option. This is obviously not an option for everyone but its is very popular.
