In the consumer electronics industry there is a lot of focus on design. The same holds true with the car industry. what is that next great design that is going to rock the world of the car business? In the world of crop protection business in Canada there has not been a lot of change to the design of the way product is packaged. Herbicides come in jugs, totes or drums for the most part.
At Canada’s Outdoor Farm show I talked to Joanne Hewitson from Dupont about the Dupont PrecisionPac. Essentially it is a just in time (JIT) recipe system that provides you a customized herbicide package. Farmers will have less left over product and retailers reduce inventory risk. In my mind it seems like a win win for farmers, retailers and Dupont.
