Jack Hayden, Alberta Minister of Agriculture Says the Future of the Cattle Industry is Bright

Last week at the international livestock congress I heard many speeches about the past, present and future of the canadian cattle industry. At the beginning of congress the Alberta Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development welcomed the delegates to Calgary and wished them the best at their conference.

Due to the fact Mr. Hayden is new to the agriculture portfolio, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce many of you to him through an interview. I do not know much about Mr Hayden but I do know his challenges are great. Agriculture battles a growing urban population, a rising currency, an aging farm population and high amounts of farm debt.  I ask Mr. Hayden about all of this and a little about the check-off battle happening in Alberta as well.

Just a heads up, the other voice in the interview is a guy from CBC television who shared the scrum with me.
